1 -non e il caso-
Nota d'usoNon è corretto tradurre letteralmente l'espressione non è il caso con “it's not the case”, che significa non è vero. Esistono diversi modi di dire equivalenti a “non è il caso”, che possono variare a seconda del contesto: Non è il caso di piangere (non c'è bisogno), there is no need to cry; Non è il caso che cucini per noi (non disturbarti), don't bother cooking for us; Non è il caso di bere prima di guidare (non dovresti), you shouldn't drink before driving. -
2 -bisogno-
Nota d'usoNon si deve tradurre letteralmente l'espressione aver bisogno con to have need. Il verbo to need indica da solo questo concetto: Ho bisogno di un maglione nuovo, I need a new jumper (non I have need of a new jumper). -
